Oman - Mintrib and Wahiba Sands (or Sharqiya Sands)

Mintrib is a good starting point to cross the Wahiba Sands Desert (also called Sharqiya Sands). Here we found a bedoin who charged us 35 OR (105$) to drive us across the desert using our own 4x4. Make sure to buy some food and lower the tire pressure before driving in the Sands. We hear it was a good price for the service. We left Mintrib at 10:30AM and arrived on the sea on the other side of the desert at 2 PM. We learned the expression "TAMASAKU!" which means "HANG ON!" when the bedouin was giving us emotions driving from dune to dune at high speed. It was a great experience ! On the other side of the desert, we meet a shark seller and a family living there by the sea. This is the Arabian Sea, a part of the Indian Ocean. We had lunch with them, mostly rice, dates and tea. We drive a little farther for more cosiness and place our tent there for the night.

The next morning, leaving toward Ras Al Hadd (North-East) we found a small town where we could re-inflate our tires now that we left the sands.
